Wisconsin Restraining Order Attorney Notes:
The party asking for a restraining order is the petitioner; the party receiving the restraining order is the respondent. If the respondent is arrested following a domestic violence incident, they may have a 72 hour no-contact order. This order requires you to stay away and make no contact with the petitioner, often in turn requiring you to stay away from your residence. A temporary restraining order, TRO, is given to a respondent pending an injunction hearing. A TRO can last 90 days or until the injunction hearing occurs. The injunction is a more permanent restraining order which can last up to 4 years.
Whether you are the respondent to a restraining order, or you violated a restraining order in Wisconsin; our Kenosha criminal defense lawyers will help you fight for your rights.
